# 17 Thoughts on MMSCL 2.0

Let me begin by saying, THANKS.

In the beginging, I was a little confused as to why I needed to be part of this excersise.In completing it, I now understand a little bit more of this world of computers that has taken our lives by storm. You really need to be up on all the changes and hub bub's of the Web world. I deffinately was scared and confused on things or rather the exercises provided. As I accomplished each step it became apparent to me that I was understanding just a little bit more.

Face book is definately an avenue I would use daily. Suffolk wave has been used daily since the exercise. I LOVE IT. Craigs list is always being used. I must say the u-tube part was very informational for me. Knowledge on the web, who would have though that. The Feeds that I subscribed to are great. I get the politic news all the time. No more rummaging through paper or web, looking for it. It deffinately save alot of time.

It has been an accomplishment I will Cherish. I now have more info. than my kids. lol

craigslist classified

I have to say, that I and my husband have used this program MANY times. He more than I have posted and bought from the list.

Have bought, beds, scooters and car/boat parts. We also have sold as many items. Helps to clean out our sheds that have become homes to many items that HE MIGHT need later in life.

Visited Craigslist and found FIREISLAND summer rentals. NICE. it gives all the stat's that is most asked. I know this would be a program or item that I would use in the future.

Google Docs

This is weird excercise. I can see where you are going with it, unfortunately It is confusing to me. I would like to know how to make it work. For using the calander for next year. In having houses for rentals and having investors needing to know available times to rent and important inf.. this program should help. KUDOS I like it.
I chose a template, wrote on it and sent it to you. If it is as easy as that, then I am hooked!!!

Wiki, what is it and do I like it??

For all though's who are computer savvy, this is an avenue for you. I am not savvy and really was not appealing to me. I did like the fact the when I went on the PALS WIKI I was able to get to the schedule for the SCLS meetings using the cloud. WIKI Cloud, where do they get the names for these programs?? That may be something that is easily accessable to me and I would use.

I did however, create my own personal PBWIKI acct. Don't know if I will use it. Although It could help with the reading books I may want to read.

Alright so this is what I did. I subscibed to technorati. Nice to have news information ready to read. No need to surf the web or search long and hard.
After reading some news, it is disturbing to know that our kids are required to know more about twittering than social studies. They have to be more savvy with links and blogs. Shows how timed have changed majorly. But more importantly, when did I get to be the OLD SCHOOL person???

Syndic8 looks very scary to me. I opened it up and immediately thought, WHAT do I do now??? Helpless is what I am feeling!

Feeds and Catalog

When looking through our new wbsite I saw the RSS symbol. When clicking on it a window containing many sites opened. Nice too see there are many feeds being watched by people. I then tried to subcribe to a feed that " no content available from source at this time" appeared. Thought that was weird, it was libary news. I then went to local news and saw that a horrific thing had happenend yesterday. A child dies over a carrot that was lodged in her throat. OMG that is sooo scary. Think you are sending your child to school with healthy snacks and that happens.

I finally subcribed to the "adult non-fiction" RSS feed. I am very interested in the latest books by my favorite authors.

In the beggining was confussing. But as I chugged on things got a little easier.

Feed Readers

Google reader acct. was searched using ther MSNBC web page. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29509235/Brings me to the 2nd largest jackpot winning for the state of NJ. Unfortunately it was won by 10 winners. It just goes to show you that its not just "you" with a dream.

I subscribed to MSNBC new for the latest on politics. I find most interesting. It changes constantly, and would be nice to be kept abrest of the newest information.

WAVE me baby.

Dreams from My Father,is the e-book that I have chosen. I think this is a great tool to have. It is nice hearing a book being read to you as I am in the process of doing something else. Talk about multitasking. I am not sure if that is good or bad for most. I know I am enjoying it and finding it most impressive.

The process you go through, to actually start to listen to the book chosen, was very long and confusing to me. I am not very computer savy and find this hard. After long try's and demands, I am now enjoying this book. Very interesting.

I really enjoyed touring flickr. I am always partial to sunsets, and found one in particular that is very similar to my very own phot. Similar in the way of that very special feeling you get when you are lost in the sunset. Reflections, colors and rays, play a huge part in that special feeling. I attempted to attach the url from flickr to my blog, however sadly it did not take. I think I am going to have to great a whole other blog.

Who would have known. A little bit of toothpaiste, peanut butter and soda (diet mind you) can do some magic things. If not for this youtube experience I would never have known about this.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE1gvaM3iAs Being everyone has to have some scratched movie or tunes dvd and cd's laying around messed up, I thought this could help many frustrated people. Surfing YouTube was fun. Looking at performance or footage of events that people have posted, was hilarious.

Library thing

I went and added my 3-books. Found that with every book there were tags referring more info. on either that book or subject. Mystery, love, whatever. It makes it easier to find books that are relevent to the books wanted or area you are reading about.http://www.librarything.com/profile/mdonovanfoglia is the link used to find the books I searched for.

It will deffinately be helpful for those helping patrons find other books along the same lines as the book in question. Maybe help with information that you nothing about. The patron and you will benefit from this program.

tagging and delicious update

I have more to add to my previous blog. Here it goes.www.nytimes.com/pages/books/bestseller/ was used to see other tags on bestselling books. I went to the daytime "the view wbsite and made taggs on that. Here's the link http://abc.go.com/daytime/theview/ used. I like the fact that my opinion and thoughts are helpful to others. Spoke to Jacky and I have to twitter and blog again.
Here it goes.

I twittered about one of the most saught out programs that are offered at the library, BINGO.
I myself have experienced this program and find it fun. The once a month it is offered is not nearly enough.

I feel if patrons are going to use the twitter program, then information left behind by other patrons are going to be helpful.

this is a fine way to help keep track of all websites visited. It looks like it can be helpful. I my self went to the website for "the view" tv show using this linkhttp://abc.go.com/daytime/theview. I like the whole bookmark experience. It becomes very helpful to get to sites.
The tagging done by other people when gone to www.nytimes.com/pages/books/bestseller/ helps to get info.
